When you and your family become patients at Crownsville Dental & Wellness Solutions, you become a part of our family. While taking care of your smile is always a top priority, we believe in conservative care that also takes your total health into consideration. One of the ways we can help patients like you live more fulfilling lives is by helping you get the restful, rejuvenating sleep your body needs to function optimally.
Sleep apnea is one of the biggest reasons why so many patients we meet from all across the Crofton, Millersville, and Annapolis communities just can’t get a good night’s sleep. But we’re here to tell you; we can change everything.
What is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea usually occurs when a person’s tongue settles too far back in the throat, blocking the airway, causing a choking response and excessive snoring. One of the worst things about this disorder is that you may have it, wake up over 100 times a night, and not even know it.
When you’re constantly tired, do you blame stress or too much caffeine? Maybe it’s time to learn more about sleep apnea: what a diagnosis means, and how it can be treated comfortably and affordably.
Sleep apnea is:
- Generally accompanied by loud snoring
- Caused by a blockage in your airway
- Often treated with a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine
- Dangerous to your oral and overall health
How Can We Help You?
Dr. Eric Rabovsky uses his in-office Galileos to help identify any Sleep Apnea indicators. If we think sleep apnea could be negatively affecting your health, we may refer you for a sleep study. To help you get the deep sleep you and your body need, we can also create a custom sleep appliance to help reposition your jaw and open your airway.
If you or someone you care about is having issues with snoring and sleeping, take some time to schedule a visit with us. We’re here to help you every step of the way!
